Working Together to Protect Our Lakes

The Thompson Chain of Lakes Stewardship Coalition recently received a grant from Monitoring Montana Waters.

Through this grant, trained volunteers will sample 3 of the lakes in the 18 lake chain - Crystal, Lavon and Horseshoe Lakes. We are primarily concerned about high nitrate and phosphate levels. The samples, taken throughout the spring, summer and fall will establish important and scientifically sound baseline water quality data.

We hope to expand to more lakes next summer.
